When the Road is Home

When the Road is Home

Loma, CO—After a desolate stretch across the Utah desert, we exited I70 near the Colorado border and pulled into a sleepy town for gas. As we drove up to the pump, we noticed another little camper fueling up beside us. As luck would have it, this sweet 1968 Oasis belonged to two fellow adventurers who also are in the midst of a Kickstarter-funded travel project!

When the Road is Home is a collaboration between photographers Daniel Volland and Ben Schuyler. They are traveling the county documenting and sharing stories of other road dwellers they meet along the way. We were thrilled to have run into these two kindred spirits, and enjoyed spending a half hour hanging out back behind the station on that hot August day.

Daniel and Ben took the time to learn about our project, photograph the egg, and write up an interview for their Roadsteaders series. Check out the piece and be sure to learn more about When the Road is Home.
